This Montessori-inspired art resource goes beyond a simple craft. Children first meet the artist and observe authentic works by Mondrian, noticing his use of straight lines, squares and rectangles, primary colors, and white space. They are then invited to explore these artistic elements through open-ended creative activities of their own.
The included Build a Mondrian activity allows children to arrange black strips and red, yellow, and blue shapes before gluing their final composition. For an additional art experience, three Mondrian-inspired sheets can be colored with crayons, pencils, or markers—or painted with red, yellow, and blue.
